Product Information

Henry Kendall was an early Australian poet who lived from 1841 to 1882. This volume was first published in 1869. After time spent in New Zealand he spent most of his life in New South Wales. He held a number of different jobs that supported his largely non-profitable pursuit of poetry. He was appointed by Sir Henry Parkes (the father of the federation) in 1881 as the Inspector of State Forests but the duties of the job made him vulnerable to poor health and eventually led to his death from consumption in 1882.
