Travel, Guides, Exploration, Walking, Adventure

You’ve seen the pretty picture books on the scenery of our national parks, and all the guides on plants, birds and animals. Now here is the book that tells you how the parks of southern Queensland came to be here in the first place – the landscapes we see today are closely related to ancient geological events. This book groups parks with a similar geological history, describes their common origins and gives details on each. It tells of places where you can see the rocks and landscapes along access roads and walking tracks. All the main parks and some interesting smaller ones from the NSW border to Bundaberg and inland to the Bungy Mountains are covered.

Warwick Willmott is a geologist who has worked with the geological survey of Queensland in a variety of fields. he likes to bring geology to the public, and has written other Rocks and Landscapes booklets, given talks and guided public excursions.
