Sort of a Place Like Home: Remembering the Moore River Native Settlement

Author(s): Susan Maushart

Aboriginal/Indigenous | Western Australia | History & Studies - General

A combined memoir/oral history of the Settlement which was established in 1918 by the Chief Protector of Aborigines, as part of a social experiment, the aim of which was eradication of a race and culture. Paints a vivid picture of the life experience of those in the Settlement, while documenting bureaucratic incompetence, official indifference and the occasional outright brutality found at Moore River.

Very good condition overall. Light tanning on first page.
